Junior European Championships 2010

Having successfully got Ellie Cundy selected for the 2010 Junior Championships I set off for Austria with John, Jane, Hannah and Joey Eccles in their lorry having gained a lift, Go Fast very happy travelling in the back with her mates Henry and Tyke. Half way there and relaxing with a book reminded me I'd forgot the tent !!! no accomodation for me, Ellie and Marcia then ! Thank goodness for Silvie who hadnt left Switzerland yet, she kindly bought one along with her for us to borrow.

The first day the temperature was 30 degrees but by the third day the rain had started - and it didnt stop until the last day, by then we were pretty much covered in mud! lovely camping weather!

The trot up caused some problem, the Ground Jury was convinced there was an issue with Tyke, a pity no one else could see it. Go Fast came to the rescue and carried the Junior Team, so much for an easy competition!

Ellie did EVS proud, her compulsories were clean, we had too early a draw for my likeing but got on with the job, Stephanie Hunter from Scotland who was also on Go Fast did a good job. The freestyle day came round quickly and Ellie looked wonderful in her new catsuit, she tried really hard and it was looking good but she lost her balance in the backwards stand, after composing herself she carried on and did a wonderful tuck back off to finish, I was very proud of her. The Junior Team finished 6th on Go Fast, all in all we had a wonderful competition, lots of fun. Thanks to the Eccles for making us so welcome and for Silvie for helping out with accomodation, instruction and friendship whilst we were there, oh and of course the chocolate !!!!!
